In response to recommendations from professional library associations across the state and around the country, the Schoharie Free Library will be changing its quarantine period for returned materials from 96 hours to 48 hours. Library materials should still be returned to the book drop outside the library’s door. But beginning March 1st, returned items will be placed in quarantine for only two days before being checked in and returned to shelves.
Consequently, we will be shortening the five day grace period we had been giving for all returned materials. Starting Monday, March 1st, patrons will get three “free days” before any late fees are charged.
Contact the library with any questions.
Facilitator Jody DeJong will teach how to get started with a Kindle, e-reader, phone, or other device, and download books. Whether you use a free site through the library, such as Libby or Overdrive, or download from a commercial website, you can have a great reading experience! Please have your device handy.
