Online “Antiracist” Book Discussion

Our new Racial Awareness Book Discussion Group will begin by studying and discussing “How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi. The first meeting is Wednesday, July 29 at 7pm online. We will most likely take several sessions to discuss the ideas in this book, then over time, explore other books as well.
Click here to sign up, and we’ll send you a link to join.
We look forward to a lively and informative discussion!

Schoharie Library Ramp Door Pick Up Starts Monday June 29th

Transition hours beginning 6/29 are: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday 11-6, Thursday 12-7, and Saturday 10-2.

Even though people can’t come into the building yet, you can still borrow library materials. Call 518-295-7127, email sholib@midtel.net, or place a request via your account in the online catalog at pac.sals.edu to ask for items to borrow.  The Library will call you to arrange an appointment so you can come and pick up your items.  They will be checked out, packed in one of our new yellow library bags, and placed on a table in the entryway of the door at the top of the ramp for you to pick up.  You will need to bring some form of photo identification to show through the window.

Fairies & Gnomes: Imagine Their Homes!

This is a summer learning project of the Mohawk Valley Library System, whose mission is to provide a summer of magical opportunities for families working together — using social-distancing guidelines and natural “found” materials — to build fairy and gnome homes at their own residences, on library lawns, in community parks and other local sites — wherever the shy and mystical “wood folk” might be found!

Families are invited to explore 518Fairy Homes — particularly the “Fun for Families” link at the top of the page — to create their own enchanted, folkloric worlds!

This project is part of the 2020 NYS Summer Reading Program, “Imagine Your Story,” a celebration of fairy tales, folklore, mythology, and sharing your own unique story and voice.
